Martin Maryland Aviation Museum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>RAPCON visited the Maryland Air Museum at Martin State AP in May 2010. We arrived to find the museum closed but were fortunate to meet Bill Murphy whose enthusiasm was infectious! \u00a0He kept us enthralled with his local knowledge of the airport, the museum and the achievements of a being legendary American aviator.<br \/>\nMartin State Airport is named after one of the pioneers of powered aviation, Glenn L Martin. In 1928, he established an aircraft production facility in Middle River, Maryland and the Maryland Aviation Museum is dedicated to him. The Martin Aircraft Corporation built,\u00a0among\u00a0others, the B-26, B-57 &#8216;Canberra&#8217; and P5M Mauler as well as passenger airliners.
