100 Squadron  –  RAF Leeming

Thursday 24th March 2022 saw RAF 100 Squadron disband & cease flying activities with their Hawk T.1 aircraft at RAF Leeming after nearly 31 years of continuous flying with this aircraft type.  The occasion was marked with a practice flypast of six Hawk T.1 aircraft from the Squadron on Monday 21st March, prior to a parade & celebration flypast on the 24th. Aircraft that participated in the practice flypast can be seen in the gallery below, together with some QEAF Hawk 167 examples & a visiting RAF Puma helicopter.

Between 24th & 31st March 2022, all remaining fly worthy Hawks that were previously assigned to 100 Squadron, were either sent to RAF Shawbury for storage or to RAF Valley for conversion to Red Arrow standard. One aircraft was retained at Leeming & eventually will be displayed outside Number 90 Signals Unit.
