RED FLAG 15/2
Red Flag 15/2 was held at Nellis Air Force Base between 2nd and 13th March 2015
RAPCON were privileged to be invited to the Media Day held on 3rd of March and are indebted to our hosts 99ABW Public Affairs Office and the excellent access they gave us to the runways.
As usual, the Exercise was conducted on the vast instrumented Combat Ranges north of Nellis and was organised by the 414th Combat Training Squadron, Nellis AFB. It followed the usual pattern of two airforces, The Blue Airforce Package with AWACS, Tankers, Bombers, SEAD Fighters and defending Fighters pitched against the Aggressor Squadrons of the Red Airforce. This was billed as the last time F-15 aircraft would appear as aggressor aircraft and 3 examples took part assigned to the 64th AGRS as the 65th AGRS had already disbanded

RED AIRFORCE
64th AGRS, 57th ATG, Nellis AFB flying F-16C and F-15C aircraft. These are painted in colours representing the former Communist country airforces and fly in a similar way to those countries to give participating pilots a realistic training environment similar to that which they might encounter in a real engagement.
